Hallelujah! …more for the unexpected shake-ups she’ll bring rather than the character herself, although I am happily embracing Diane’s wacky resurrection. So yay!- finally more drama for Jack beyond his brooding… and longing… and reflecting… and, YAWN, whatever. Watching him develop a bond w/Allie could be sweet I suppose, but also YAWN. So bring it, Diane! Shake up Sleepin’ (oops, I mean Smilin’) Jack!
As the “paper nerd” that Ali tagged me, I am always looking for the logic in everything. It makes sense that the writers want to give the fans what they want, and they have decided that bringing back the familiar is what we want. This is true.
An example is trying to reconnect past couples. The logic of Y&R bringing back known characters, such as Keemo and Diane, is because t is most likely what the fans want. Also, bringing back an established character is probably less cost than establishing a new character.
I’m excited to see an real adversary for Phyllis. Diane stirred up lots of trouble the first time around. She even had a turn with Victor. I can’t wait till Jack sets eyes on Diane and Phyllis turns green. Diane and Jack had their issues where Kyle was concerned. If I remember correctly Diane was devoted to Kyle and kept his birth a secret from Jack for many years. This is bound to create some great soap turmoil.

Oh, I voted yes! to Diane’s return. Lots of character interaction. I would rather see her triangle with Michael/Lauren than with Phyllis/Jack.
