Damian and Amy’s scenes were really great Friday. Amy got me teared up! The whole store is sad. All that time wasted for Amy and Damian and now she’s at the end of her time. They had me in the fetal position by the end of their visit! Nate checked Amy’s pulse with his thumb again! Doesn’t Y&R have a medical consultant? Doesn’t he have a stethoscope in a drawer somewhere? Amy had on a bit more makeup today. She looks healthy to me. Audra is digging a deeper hole with Nate, lying about how Holden had her number. One thing is for sure, if you go to Nate’s house he is going to give you some green tea. Lilly seems a bit grossed out by Damian’s character. He was ready to leave his dying mother and town until he had an interest in Lilly. The writing is on the wall, they will be together in 6 months. My fashionista eye noticed bold patterns and florals this week. Lauren’s orange and black dress was my favorite and so eye popping. Nikki’s bright rosy floral and black jacket was so pretty. Lilly’s blue shape print dress was cute and business professional. Claire’s black and white spotted dress was a bold family dinner date choice. Audra has a softer print that was lacy and feminine and still flattered her curves. Sally’s snakeskin print and multi stripped dress was not good and my only disappointment.
Today on “Next week on Y& R” Daniel says both Phyllis and Sharon are missing. I wonder if the scene Sharod told us about, where Phyllis and Sharon are chained together, will be used now. Will they once again stage it at the “Faith Newman Memorial Sewer”. This would be too obvious. Plus Sharon is a pro at getting out now. She now knows to pry open the lock and not hit it randomly.
Jermaine Rivers, Damian, is quite a good actor. He embodied charm and curiosity with Lily. His scenes with Amy showed long-held resentment and distance. As she told him why she was never there and her regrets, he showed confusion and disbelief. He is another find for Y & R.
He brings such a welcome change, his looks, acting style, and edginess. Oh and that lavender velvety suit and shirt. He wore it well. I’m looking forward to a front burner romance between him and Lily. I want Holden to stay as permanent character too. He can cause problems for Audra and Nate.
I like the heartfelt way Amy appreciates the lengths Nate and Audra have gone for her. All are a mutual admiration society These are the forever friends.
VINTAGE IS CURRENT: Jack should see to it that everything that goes out of that house is put into storage so that he can bring it all back in the event of a Jack/Diane uncoupling.
“Thank you for wanting to save me”, Amy tells Nate. I have now become a huge Nate Hastings fan. I realy enjoyed today’s show featuring not my favorite characters. Amy Lewis makes the whole Damien story work although I have yet to hear of a rising up fan base. I liked Lily’s classic freezing out of Damien as only she can do. Damien, who’s hot to date his relative. Are they a biological connection? Get a load of the Paris patchwork dress on Sally Spectra she has no trouble pullin off.
I like Damian and liked the way he used obvious “lines” to let Lily know he’s interested. I bet her little heart was happy to see a new man in town finally. Love your fashion commentary on Sally’s odd patchwork dress – you are right she had no trouble making the dress look great.

Soap fan update…I just watched an interview with Tamara Tunie about Beyond the Gates. She was very proud that it is the first new daytime drama in 25 years and the first to feature a prominent, wealthy, and powerful African American family. She performed 15 years on As the World Turns and returned to daytime to be in the role of the head matriarch of this fictional family. She was regally impressive and I will be tuning in and hoping that some of our new Y&R characters might appear.
A few characters have Tucker on their mind. Could this be Y&R test marketing the audience’s feelings on Tucker’s return? I don’t remember if it has been done, but maybe it’s time for a poll question?
I am in favour of his return. I wonder however if he will go after Jabot, the Newmans, or whether he is — as predicted — Damian and Devon’s long lost father who provided Damian with the stake to start his empire?
Tucker would be a welcomed addition in any storyline but, I am with Ali that it should be Trevor St. John. A recast would not be well received at my house.

It’s pretty exciting we get a new soap. Y & R is the only one I’ve watched from day one. Now I can add Beyond the Gates.
